Grounded in a workshop at Lucasfilm Ltd., this is a model of a Valkyrie Class Fighter created to reflect the space age fantasy of the new generation video game from ATARI/LUCASFILM, RESCUE ON FRACTALUS! In the game, players become pilots flying do-or-die rescue missions to the rugged and treacherous terrain of the planet Fractalus. Two space-age models created by technical experts at Lucasfilm Ltd. give life to the fantasies of two breakthrough home video games, RESCUE ON FRACTALUS! and BALLBLAZER. Featured here is a deadly Jaggi suicide saucer thatthreatens rescue pilots on Fractalus and a Rotofoil that dodges and darts across a checkerboard playing field in BALLBLAZER. Both games employ animation techniques and sophisticated graphics technology used before only in advanced computer simulations. The models shwn here were developed after the games were designed for use in unique, 'live action' gameplay manuals and packaging.
