Scientists in Japan have just discovered that the neutrino has mass.
CNN describes its mass relative to that of an electron in this way:

"If the mass of an electron would approximately equal a U.S. naval cruiser
and half a mine sweeper, then the mass of the neutrino would equal five apples"
[accompanied by pictures of the USS Normandy, half the USS Ardent, and five
apples.]

Couldn't they think of a better analogy?
