Author: an acquaintance of Kingsley Amis whose name I've forgotten,
but is given in Amis's "Memoirs."
The "seven ages of man" speech from As You Like It distilled into a limerick:
Seven ages: first puking and mewling,
Then very pissed off with one's schooling,
Then fucks, and then fights,
Then judging chaps' rights,
Then sitting in slippers, then drooling.
