There is a dangerous virus circulating on the Internet, masquerading as a
petition for NPR funding. If you get a copy, or twelve, of any email
containing the words "NPR funding" or "Save Sesame Street" in the subject
line, do not read this email! Reading this dangerous virus will fill you
with a sense of moral outrage and an overwhelming desire to Make A Difference,
and you will then comb your address lists to send it out again to every man,
woman, and child from whom you've ever received email in your life.
If you happen to be the unfortunate 350th, or 800th, etc. recipient of this
vile, loathsome creation, you will also send a copy to <wein2688@blue.univn>
which is a forwarding address that goes directly to the mailboxes of the
very politicians and bureaucrats that are AT THIS VERY MOMENT holding Big
Bird in captivity, forcing her to perform unspeakable acts on Miss Piggy,
and making Bert and Ernie watch Masterpiece Theatre for days at a time.
With each forwarded message, they cackle with glee as they distribute the
names to the FBI, which is building a dossier on known and suspected
National Geographic sympathizers.
Please forward this message IMMEDIATELY to everyone you know, and if you
receive it more than once, just keep sending it out again and again until
we have finally wiped out this nefarious NPR virus once and for all.
