Well so much for Lucent's ad campaign.
The Final Jeopardy answer last night was "A 60 ft model of a transistor
is in the lobby of this company's Holmdel, NJ office."
The contestants' questions were "What is X", where X was, in order, General
Electric, RCA, and General Electric - though the winner did at least begin
to write "Bell.." before crossing it out.
It's a rare occurrence that all of the Jeopardy contestants miss the Final
Jeopardy question. Missed questions usually involve obscure 14th century
Finnish playwrights, not American companies saturating the airwaves with
advertisements reminding us who invented the transistor.
