Would Oedipus have been able to answer this one?

Q: What is it that gets a three-pack in the morning, a six-pack in the
   afternoon, and a twelve-pack in the evening?

A: The student, who, in high-school buys three condoms at once (one for
   Friday, one for Saturday, one for Sunday), in college buys six at once
   (two for Friday, two for Saturday, two for Sunday), and in graduate school
   buys twelve at once (one for January, ...)
