Last night CNN reported on the new $600 laser being developed to remove
grafitti. (Must be the Neutron laser -- removes grafitti, but leaves
buildings and paint jobs intact.)

Here's the kicker:  Los Angeles spends $100 million a year on grafitti
removal! I guess it never occured to them that putting $100 million a year
into job programs might dramatically reduce the amount of grafitti they have
to clean up.
