Points well made. I lived through People's Park, and I tried to tell 
people about Reagan. During the entire 1980 campaign, I only heard one 
caller on KGO who brought up People's Park. Ronn Owens cut her off. 
(Ronn!!! My at-the-time-quasi-liberal buddy.) When I wrote an op-ed piece 
for the Journal-American, and brought in Hearst newspapers to corroborate 
the quotes, brutality and subsequent indictments, my editor refused to 
run the piece. He called it "too incendiary." This was a "liberal" editor 
of the so-called "liberal media."

My point being not so much that Buchanan is a threat, but that he is part 
of that same media crowd. A recent network TV discussion commented on how 
the media were going easy on Buchanan, because for three decades he'd 
been part of them. Jesus, the asshole wrote mouthy speeches for two of 
the worst presidents in American history, gave the penultimate 
xenophobic, racist lecture of his own at the 1992 Republican convention 
("What we need in this country is a cultural cleansing..."), then turns 
around and becomes a political commentator and host for CNN!

The problem, dear Brutus, is not in our stars. It's in the people giving 
them a free ride. You know...the "liberal media." With no serious public 
critique of a Nazi like Buchanan, get ready to start goose-stepping to 
"Springtime for Hitler" again.
