Recently President Clinton and the Pope got together for a conference
on the world's problems. Of course there were hordes of reporters and
cameras so it was quite difficult for the world leaders to have a private
conversation. They decided to take a row boat out on a lake where they
could talk privately.
While they were talking a gust of wind blew the Pope's cap off and
across the lake. The media people lining the shore became quite excited,
wondering if this would be taken as a sign from God. But the problem was
resolved when Clinton stood up, stepped out of the boat, walked over (on
the water) to the cap, picked it up, walked back, gave the Pope his cap,
and got back into the boat without so much as a wet cuff.
All the newspeople on the shore ran to their phones and faxes in a rush
to get the story out. The next morning every newspaper in America had some
variation of the same headline: POPE REVEALS CLINTON CAN'T SWIM!
