If Sawyer had the scoop she certainly wouldn't have given it to Woodward
and Bernstein. My money is on David Gergen.

The best thing about this "news" was seeing the tabloid front pages and the
graphics super imposed behind the TV anchors that had Sawyer's photo and
the caption "Deep Throat?" I may be wrong, but wasn't that Linda Lovelace?

DIANE SAWYER has denied Rabbi Baruch Korff's claim that she was the "Deep
Throat" source that helped bring down President Richard Nixon by uncovering
the Watergate scandal. Bob Woodward, one of the two Post reporters who have
never revealed their source, confirmed Sawyer's statement that the Rabbi
was wrong. At the time of Watergate, Sawyer was an assistant in the Nixon
press office. When Sawyer heard the Rabbi's claim, "she laughed so hard,
she could barely stand it and said, 'That's priceless,'" said one spokesman
for the ABC journalist. "There is no evidence that Diane Sawyer, in her
kind of subsidiary role in the Nixon White House, would have that kind of
knowledge," said Woodward. (NY Daily News)
