 Concerning the last thought in this fine document -- what, indeed, will
 happen to the "middle-aged" who don't "get it" and fall behind?  A larger
 question is what will happen to those unable to afford to "get it?"  For
 some of us, the $9.95 minimum for a service like AOL isn't much of a
 hardship, and computers are a common sight around our offices and homes.
 The charge for 14.4 or 28.8 connectivity becomes a moot point when you ain't
 got the machine to connect, and can't afford the electricity to run the
 machine if you were given one.
 
 We take a lot for granted in our society today, and universal connectivity
 is talked of as a "given," but it isn't, by any means.
 
 What do we do about it?
