Various people forwarded a column about a hoax pulled on Jerry Springer, the
talk show host.

>"All I have to sell is my honesty," added Springer himself.

I grew up in Cincinnati, as did Jerry Springer--who had political ambitions.
He ran for City Council, but his hopes were dashed with the discovery that he
had used a *credit card*(!) to pay for the services of a prostitute. I
believe he was married at the time.

(I also met him once at a party, and he was just as unctuous and smarmy in
person as he appears to be on TV. Shudder.)

[Maybe he's just looking for a way to pay the world back for that rude exposure
of his little peccadillo...  -psl]
