This happened at the famous Lutz Tavern in Portland, Oregon
on the evening of 17 October, and I shall never forget it:

A baseball-capper good-old-boy is explaining something to another of
his archetype, shaking his finger in admonishment.  The other
good-old-boy then shakes his finger back, and says, I quote exactly:

"Don't you never again tell me anything I already don't know."
