Beaverton, Oregon:
Ever have that nagging feeling that you might not wake
up in time to catch the latest earthquake?
Relax, your worries are over. From U.S. International
Trading Corporation of Beaverton comes the "Earthquake
Alarm Clock."
Company president Panch Prasad says the clock is the
first tremor detector designed for personal use, giving
an alarm within three seconds of any quake measuring 2
or more on the Richter scale.
But that's not all. The quake-awakening device also
serves as a "fully functional" alarm clock and intruder
alert device, according to a news release. So when
punching the alarm off, you may have to make a fast,
alert decision about whether it's time to go to work,
fight a prowler or duck for The Big One.
