"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Emma Lazarus
November 2, 1883

Wretched Refuse was one of the most fun bands I've ever had the opportunity to play in.
The band's leader, Richie Shulberg, could be so hilariously wild and wildly creative
that it was often difficult to breathe from laughing so hard.

We made a record. Wretched Refuse Record

The bridge portrayed on the album cover is the Brooklyn Bridge. Richie told me that in order to achieve the maximum realism he had tried to find a company that could make a "Scratch'n'Sniff "area under the bridge on the cover. Apparently they all refused when they learned the fragrance he wanted was urine.

The record has been reissued as a CD, although some places want an outrageous price for it. Wretched Refuse CD
