15-year-old in fraud case
- By Emily Church

The SEC says it's settled civil fraud charges against Jonathan G. Lebed,
age 15, for using the Internet to conduct a stock manipulation scheme that
made profits of $272,826. Ronald Long, SEC District Administrator, said
Lebed bought blocks of microstocks and then sent "numerous false and/or
misleading unsolicited e-mail messages" touting his purchases in stocks
that include Just Toys Inc. (JUST.OB: news, msgs) and The Havana Republic
(HVAR.OB: news, msgs). The case is the first for the SEC against a minor.
