 From Utah:

"Rosalie Sorrels' cabin caught on fire last week. The rafters
burned and now the roof needs to be replaced. The cabin, at Grimes Creek,
Idaho, was build by Rosalie's father for her mother, Nancy, who passed away
several years ago. The cabin is the center of Rosalie's life, the place
where her mother's, father's, and son's ashes are scattered. It is the only
place she has to live. Now, the cabin needs a new roof and some other
structural repairs. The job should cost about $5,000. Moreover, Rosalie
needs to take time off from the most arduous touring schedule imaginable. I
don't know of anyone who has done more for others, longer and for less,
than she has. After 35 years of hard, beautiful work, she's really up
against it this time. Sixty-three years old, winter here, no roof,
arthritis making it harder to move, pain all the time. Let's give her a
rest. The physical problems can be dealt with by physical therapy and rest,
but mostly by being at home. But she needs a home to be at. This will all
cost some money. Please help out. Rosalie is one of our own. We need her.
Now she needs us.
The Snake River Alliance, an Idaho environmental group that Rosalie
has owrked with for years, has set up a bank account in her name. Send

On another note, Utah's "Good Though" recording IS now on CD, and when we
have it in hand, we'll let you know.

All of Utah's recordings can be pruchased through his site, and all of the
$$ goes to Utah. It's very fulfilling to be able to send him large checks
each month.... These recordings not only include his latest endeavor with
Ani DiFranco, but also his collaboration with Rosalie (The Long Memory) and
the Legends of Folk CD with Spider John Koerner and Ramblin' Jack Elliott,
as well as his many cassettes.

us, or leave a message for Utah via the message box on his site.

Thanks for your support in this matter --
