Subject: Apple's Version of "For A Good Time, Call ..."

From: Patrick Douglas Crispen <crispen@campus.mci.net>

I was working the helpdesk at the University of Alabama a few days ago
when a lady called up with a pretty severe Mac problem. Since the problem
was so severe, I instructed the lady to call the Apple tech support number
at 1-800-SOS-APPLE.

Unfortunately, the lady confused the "O" and the number zero, dialed
1-800-S-*ZERO*-S-APPLE and got ... get ready for this ... a dial-a-porn
service ("Hi, sexy ... you've just connected to the hottest cat line in
America ... 1-800-PUSS**S ...").

<*insert your own "user service" joke here*>

Needless to say, the lady's husband (who immediately called me back)
failed to see the humor in all of this :)

[Note: Fun_Consumer_Lab's exhaustive research has determined that when you
dial 1-800-707-27753 (1-800-S0S-APPLE) you get the recording described above,
which identifies itself as 1-800-787-7437 (1-800-PUS-SIES). Innocent wrong
number or sneaky pinko degenerate conspiracy? You be the judge! -psl]
