NETSCAPE OFFERS $1000 FOR SECURITY BUGS

    In a refreshingly capitalistic effort to bulletproof their software,
    Netscape is offering a thousand big ones to any hacker who spots a
    security bug in it (Microsoft, are you listening?). It's all part of
    their new cleverly named "Bugs Bounty" program, which makes us wonder
    if Warner Brothers will sue. Wouldn't that be a hoot? So grab a copy
    of the Netscape 2.0 beta (yep, it's out there), hitch your CPUs, and

This is a bunch of BS. Read the rules. If you crack a hole and send it to
them you do not get $1000!  You will be put in a raffle for a netscape mug
or a "sazzy" netscape golf shirt (w00p), their choice.  If you find a hole
and it makes the press, then they will pay you a $1000.  There is an ISP in
Calif. with a much cooler deal.  Send THEM the hole and they will send you
an "I HACKED NETSCAPE" T-shirt.  Their web page is

I would much rather have an "I HACKED NETSCAPE" T-shirt then some lame ass
coffee mug.

I think people are ignoring the obvious solution.

Once you crack Netscape and prove to the company that you've done
it, offer to sell the solution to Netscape for $5000.00.  Anyone
who cracks Netscape and settles for a coffee mug deserves what they
get: a coffee mug.
