Well, if you *really* want to be precise, the vowels are all shorter than
you indicate, so the 'oo' lasts about as long as the 'oo' in 'boot,' and
the 'le' about as long as in 'letter':
	u ku le leh (h nearly silent)
and there are slight stresses on the first and third syllables.

Permit me to recommend for your enjoyment and edification

	edited by George S. Kanahele.  Honolulu : 
	University Press of Hawaii, c1979.
	
Is crammed with mucho information in the form of encyclopedic articles by
local experts on Hawaiian music, and very worth while. And, by current
standards, not expensive atall.
