San Diego, California:

The 106th element in the periodic table has been named "seaborgium" in
honor of Nobel laureate Glenn T. Seaborg, a University of California
chemistry professor.

Seaborg is the co-discoverer of plutonium and nine other transuranium
elements, which come after uranium on the periodic table and are
artificially created in particle accelerators.
